BLOWHARD LODGE AT NISEKO
Built in 1962, Blowhard Japan (ex Victoria Lodge) was the first commercial lodge built in Niseko Hirafu. Commanding one of the prime locations; located at the base of the Alpen Chair lift, opposite the bus station, next door to the Alpen Hotel, the lodge is basically ski in/out.
No waiting for the shuttle bus to go skiing. It makes it easy to drop back in for lunch, a quick shot or rest kick before your afternoon and night sessions.
Being a 12 hour ski day/night, you will really appreciate the ski in/out location.
Renovated in 2004, the lodge is a blend of traditional Japanese and Western styles.
The classic 60s Japanese features remain while we have added the luxuries you need in your embrace of leisure.
Blowhard was designed by renowned Japanese architect Yokozeki Kensetsu and built by carpenters from the Akita Prefecture in 1962. It's a four storey (including loft), 60s masterpiece of sunken fire pit, tucked-in ski pants, split levels, tatami mats and hot sake.
Originally built and registered for 55 guests the lodge has been reconfigured to accommodate 16 guests in 8 rooms.
Room configuration
With its own AV/satellite TV lounge, tatami lounge, guest dining area and open fire pit lounge it's the perfect place to hang when you're not out getting 'neck deep'.
As well, Blowhard has its own bar and club lounge, blo*blo, situated on the ground floor of the building.
At night it transforms into a cultural melting pot serving up great drinks, gyozas and happening sounds (Karaoke free).
Food
Every morning from the kitchen you will be greeted by a full cooked breakfast, prepared by our resident chef. The breakfast is primarily wholesome international but if you want the full Japanese morning experience of salted plums and fish sperm, we can arrange it for you. If you feel like entertaining in, our chef can cater for dinner parties for you and your friends.
A guest refrigerator and food storage is also available for any snack food you buy.
Power
Japan runs on 100/110volt the plugs are two flat pins and usually no earth. Many electronic products can run from 100 to 240volt but check yours to make sure. We have a few adaptors at the lodge but it is best to bring one with you. They are available at travel shops and airports.
